The human sOX40L ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively measure sOX40L concentrations in human serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. It performs well in important characteristics, including sensitivity, specificity, precision, recovery, linearity, and lot-to-lot consistency. This assay is based on the sandwich ELISA mechanism and enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction. The solution color develops proportionally to the amount of sOX40L in the sample. And the intensity of the color can be measured at 450 nm via a microplate reader.
OX40L, also called TNFSF4, is a ligand for TNFRSF4/CD40 and is mainly expressed on activated antigen-presenting cells (APCs), such as activated B cells, dendritic cells (DCs), macrophages. The TNFRSF4-TNFSF4 interaction is involved in the control of the helper T-cell-mediated immunity at multiple points, including Th priming, effector cell function, and the generation and maintenance of memory. TNFRSF4-TNFSF4 signaling plays a dual role in T cell responses. It can boost Th1-mediated immune response and promote production and maintenance of Th2 but antagonizes Treg synthesis and Treg-mediated inhibition.
