The mouse IL13 (IL13) ELISA Kit quantitates mouse IL13 levels in multiple samples, including serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates. IL-13 is a Th2 cytokine involved in effective repair after acute lung injury and the pathogenesis of chronic diseases such as allergic asthma. IL-13 induces hypersensitivity of the airways, augments mucous production, activates fibroblasts, elevates serum Ig E levels, and increases the number of eosinophils. During schistosomiasis and other pathologies, IL-13 has been described to promote liver fibrosis. IL-13 binds to the type II receptor IL-4Rα and IL-13Rα1 for signaling via JAK1/2, leading to the activation of STAT6 and subsequent transcription of genes affecting cell proliferation and inflammation.

This kit employs the sandwich-ELISA mechanism in conjugation with IL13 antibody-IL13 antigen-specific binding as well as HRP-TMB chromogenic reaction to measure the concentration of IL13 in the samples. The kit is characterized by high sensitivity, strong specificity, good linearity, high recovery, and a precision of less than 10%.
