收藏This human IL-29 ELISA kit employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique to measure the levels of human IL-29 in multiple samples, including serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. It also uses the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to visualize and analyze the analyte levels through the color intensity. The intensity of the colored product is in direct proportion to the IL-29 levels in the sample and is measured at 450 nm through a microplate reader.
IL-29 is predominantly expressed in the epithelial tissues. It plays a role in host defenses against microbes and is upregulated in viral-infected cells. IL-29 signals through a receptor complex containing IL-28R1 and IL-10R2, leading to the activation of the JAK1/2-STAT1/2 pathway. IL-29 has an antitumor effect in several cancers including lung cancer, esophageal carcinomas, and colorectal cancer. In addition to its antiviral and antitumor activities, IL-29 acts as an immune modulator in rheumatoid arthritis and allergic asthma.
