This assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique and enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction. The color develops positively to the amount of mouse IL11 in samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. This kit displays many advantages, including high sensitivity, strong specificity, and lot-to-lot consistency.

IL11 binds to its cognate receptor IL11RA, forming the IL11/IL11RA complex that subsequently signals via the gp130 receptor to activate JAK/STAT and ERK pathways to enhance the translation of profibrotic genes. IL11 has been associated with various autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and systemic sclerosis, and has been involved in inflammatory pathologies such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), inflammatory bowel disease, periodontitis, and psoriasis.
