The human growth-regulated oncogene α (GROα) ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively measure human GROα concentrations in serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. It performs well in important characteristics, including sensitivity and specificity. This assay is based on the sandwich ELISA mechanism and enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction. The solution color develops proportionally to the amount of GROα in the sample. And the intensity of the color can be measured at 450 nm via a microplate reader.

GROα, also called CXCL1 or MGSA, is a valid pro-inflammatory factor primarily expressed in neutrophils, macrophages, and epithelial cells. CXCL1 plays a major role in inflammation, angiogenesis, tumorigenesis, and wound healing. In terms of host immune defense, CXCL1 not only recruits peripheral neutrophils to the site of infection but also activates the release of proteases and ROS for microbial killing in the tissue. It also promotes the process of cardiac remodeling and fibrosis. CXCL1 produces its diverse effects by signaling through CXCR2 on neutrophils and by binding to glycosaminoglycans (GAG) on endothelial and epithelial cells and the extracellular matrix (ECM).
