收藏The mouse Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) ELISA Kit is intended to measure mouse AFP in serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. This assay uses the bi-antibody sandwich technique and enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to quantify mouse AFP concentration. The intensity of the colored product is directly proportional to the concentration of AFP present in the sample. This mouse AFP ELISA kit has high specificity and excellent sensitivity.
AFP is the most abundant serum protein before birth, and its levels fall to very low but detectable levels after birth. Healthy adults should have very low AFP levels. It is produced by the fetal yolk sac, fetal and regenerating adult liver, and fetal gastrointestinal epithelium. AFP is an oncofetal glycoprotein expressed in the yolk sac tumor and its variants, including hepatoid and endometrioid yolk sac tumors. Elevated serum AFP concentrations have been used as a clinical biomarker for the detection of liver cancer or ovarian or testicular cancers, as well as liver diseases such as cirrhosis and hepatitis.
