The human DAF ELISA Kit is intended to measure human DAF in serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. This assay uses the bi-antibody sandwich technique and enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to quantify human DAF concentration. The intensity of the colored product is directly proportional to the concentration of DAFpresent in the sample. This human DAF ELISA kit has high specificity and excellent sensitivity.

DAF, also called CD55, is a known inhibitor of the complement system. It inhibits the formation of the C3 convertases by binding to C3b and C4b and promotes the degradation of C3 convertases thus suppressing complement activation. CD55 is involved in various diseases, such as cancer, protein-losing enteropathy, and malaria. CD55/CD97 engagement participates in cancer dedifferentiation, invasion, migration, and metastasis and results in pathogenesis for multiple sclerosis (MS) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). CD55 is also linked to the inhibition of adaptive immune responses in vivo.
