Well-characterized antibodies for epitope tags consisting of short sequences are widely used in the study of protein expression in various systems. The Rho-tag is an epitope tag consisting of a twenty-residue peptide, MNGTEGPNFYVPFSNKTGVV, which is derived from the first 20aa of bovine rhodopsin. Rho-tag can be used to boost expression levels of some eukaryotic membrane protein.
